The UAE participates in the Kazan Petroleum and Gas Conference in Tatarstan

Abu Dhabi, August 29/ WAM/ The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the work of the Kazan Petroleum and Gas Conference hosted by the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, with the participation of a group of senior officials and decision makers in the energy sector at the regional and international levels, where the state delegation was chaired by Saif Ghobash, Assistant Undersecretary for Petroleum Affairs, Gas and Mineral Resources in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

His Excellency Rustam Menikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, met on the sidelines of the conference, which was held yesterday, the assistant undersecretary for oil, gas and mineral wealth, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange of experiences in the fields of oil, gas and clean energy were discussed, in addition to discussing investment opportunities and future partnerships that contribute to supporting sustainable development and enhancing ties between the two sides.

The visit also included an official tour of a number of leading institutions and centers in the city of Kazan, including the Investment Development Agency in the Republic of Tatarstan, the artificial intelligence garden, the special economic zone “Inopolis”, the University of Inboulis, and the Institute of Urban Planning, during which the delegation was seen on advanced experiences in the areas of investment, modern technologies, scientific research, and the development of sustainable cities.

His Excellency Saif Ghobash said that participation in the Kazan Petroleum and Gas Conference, and the official meetings and visits, embodies the UAE’s keenness to consolidate active strategic partnerships in the energy sector, and expand cooperation in the areas of innovation, digital economy, education and urban planning, indicating that this participation is an opportunity to exchange experiences and build new bridges of cooperation, which opens broader horizons for joint investments and enhances the exchange of Knowledge and successful experiences.

He explained that these efforts are consistent with the targets of the vision of “We Emirates 2031”, which puts at its core the building of a diversified and sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation, as our country’s position confirms a major partner in formulating the future of energy and sustainable development globally.

He emphasized the commitment to work alongside international partners to anticipate innovative solutions that promote energy security, support the shift towards more sustainable sources, and contribute to achieving a balance between the requirements of economic growth and the protection of the environment for future generations.
