“Ownership for Girls” confirms its commitment to empowering women in information technology and digital transformation

Prof. Riad Hamza, President of the Royal University of Girls, affirmed that empowering women in the fields of information technology and digital transformation constitutes one of the basic pillars in the strategic direction of the university, because of its pivotal role in supporting the national development process. He indicated that investing in women’s technical competencies is not only limited to empowering women, but is a sustainable investment in building a competitive knowledge economy that contributes to achieving the Kingdom’s vision for the digital future.
This came during a reception of a delegation of senior officials of the Bahrain Association of Technology Companies (BTECH) on an official visit aimed at discussing the prospects for strategic cooperation between the two sides, in order to enhance the contribution of women in leading the march of digital transformation in the Kingdom.
The delegation was chaired by Eng. Rashid Al Sinan, Chairman of the Association and CEO of Etisalcom Bahrain, and included in his membership a group of prominent leaders in the technology sector, including Eng. Tariq Fakhro, the first adviser to the association and CEO of Fakhro Information Technology Services Company, and Mr. Ahmed Al -Hujairi, the first adviser to the association and CEO of GULF FUTURE BUSINESS.
During the meeting, Prof. Riad Hamza expressed the university’s pride in this visit, stressing that the university continues to establish its position as a leading academic institution in preparing women leaders capable of creating an active impact on the scene of digital transformation. He explained that partnerships with the technical sector open real horizons to link higher education to technological innovation.
For his part, Eng. Rashid Al Sinan praised the leadership role played by the university in empowering women in the digital fields, considering that the Royal University of Girls is a national model in linking university education with vocational paths in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and software development.
Engineer Tariq Fakhro stressed that empowering women in information technology and digital transformation is a national necessity, noting that the involvement of students and graduates of the Royal University of Girls represents a strategic opportunity to provide the sector with qualified women’s competencies. He considered that this partnership provides practical paths for training and guidance, which enhances the readiness of female students and graduates to engage in the digital labor market and advanced technical projects.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al -Hujairi explained that the expansion of women’s participation in technical projects and digital entrepreneurship contributes to building a more comprehensive digital economy, stressing that the support of students and graduates of the Royal University of Girls is enhancing their role in preparing women leaders capable of creating a real and sustainable impact on the future of digital transformation.
For his part, Dr. Hammam Al -Agha, Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, explained that the college is constantly developing its programs to keep pace with technical developments, stressing that cooperation with the Bahrain Association for Technology Companies will give students real opportunities to interact with real challenges in the digital sector, and obtain specialized professional certificates.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed a set of future axes of cooperation, including developing technical initiatives directed to female students, expanding the scope of practical training, and launching joint programs, as well as organizing specialized events that enhance the presence of women in the national digital innovation system.
This meeting constitutes a start for a strategic alliance between the Royal University of Girls and the Bahrain Association of Technology Companies, which contributes to empowering Bahraini women in the fields of advanced technology, and reflects the commitment of the two institutions to provide the march of national digital transformation with qualified competencies capable of contributing effectively to the Kingdom’s competitive economy.
