The UAE national team won 4 medals in the Asian Martial Arts Championship for Youth
Manama on September 3/ WAM/ Our national team recorded a remarkable presence in the opening version of the Asia Mixed Martial Arts for Youth “AMMA”, which was hosted by Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain under the supervision of the AFC mixed martial arts, achieving four colored medals with gold, silver and bronze, and ranked fourth in the general ranking of the teams.
The tournament was an important station as the first continental entitlement to youth in this sport, which reflects the rapid growth of mixed martial arts in Asia, and also allowed the players a model platform to upgrade their skills and experience before their participation in the Asian Youth Games scheduled in October.
Omar Al -Raisi won a golden -year -old gold – the traditional style weighing -60 kg, while Abdullah Al -Darmaki “under 18 years of age – the modern style weighed – 50 kg”, and Omar Al Marzouqi “under 18 years of age – the traditional style of 65 kg” two silver medals, while Ahmed Abdel -Rahim Bronze under 18 years – the modern style weight -65 kg.
Mohamed Jassim Al -Hosani, a member of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee in the Emirates Federation for Jujitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, praised the completion of the players and the honorable performance, which came as a result of an effort and continuous work from them.
He added that the results of the team in this tournament reflect the great development witnessed by sport in the UAE, and confirms the commitment to strengthen the base of practitioners and develop talents in the Sunni groups, stressing that this participation represents a basic step in preparing players for the next continental and global entitlements.
For his part, Omar Al -Raisi, the owner of the gold medal, said that participating in the first Asian youth championship and the ascending of the coronation platform reflects the importance of the achievement and the great efforts made by the players in light of strong competition from all competitors, looking to represent the UAE again in the Asian Youth Games, while giving the gold medal to the UAE leadership and people.
