200 Pakistani companies participate in "Gulfood 2026"

DUBAI, 26 JANUARY / WAM / Azhar Hussain Khokhar, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Sector at the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), confirmed that Pakistan’s participation in the Gulfood 2026 exhibition, which was launched today in Dubai, is the largest in its history, as about 200 Pakistani companies participate, including 67 companies within the TDAP / national platform.

Khokhar said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that more than 80 Pakistani companies specialized in producing and exporting rice are participating in the exhibition to display Pakistani basmati rice and other types that are exported to more than 100 countries, which reflects the great potential of the Pakistani agricultural sector.

He pointed out that the UAE is a major trading partner for Pakistan, as it accounts for about 40% of Pakistani exports, noting that there are promising opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, backward integration, increasing added value, and developing food supply chains.

He explained that Pakistan is currently focusing on improving the quality of agricultural products, enhancing sustainability, and implementing traceability and transparency systems in line with the requirements of international markets, especially in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East region.

Khokhar stressed that the Gulf Food Exhibition constitutes a strategic platform to strengthen international partnerships, showcase Pakistan’s capabilities in the food and agricultural sector, and support the presence of its products in global markets.
