Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi opens an exhibition "Generations continue" In the Sharjah Museum of Calligraphy

Sharjah, on September 3/ WAM/ Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, head of the office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, opened today, the exhibition “Tawasul Generations” organized by the Sharjah Museums Authority and will continue until October 22, at the Sharjah Museum of Calligraphy in the heart of Sharjah.
Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi toured the exhibition that combines the fragrant history and the creativity of the present, and represents a unique platform that highlights the art of Arabic calligraphy, and deals with the march of a group of Emirati calligraphers who excelled in expressing the spirit of Arabic calligraphy, and reshaped it with artistic methods that reflect the creative interaction between heritage and modernity.
The head of the Ruler’s Office was acquainted with the most prominent participants in the exhibition and its artistic and creative works aimed at spreading the art of Arabic calligraphy and highlighting the efforts of a group of calligraphers who contributed to the development of this art by integrating them with traditional methods with their own artistic touches, which reflects the passion of successive generations to preserve art, and involve society in enriching its awareness of Arab and Islamic aesthetics.
Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi listened to an explanation from the participants about their artistic experiences and their written methods, which varied between using Arabic calligraphy, Kufic calligraphy, copying line in the classic classic style and the clear third line, in addition to the works that combined drawing and Arabic calligraphy and the clear Diwaniyah line and many artistic works that celebrate the Emirati culture and allow the artist to deliver messages and feelings through them.
The Sharjah Museums Authority organizes the exhibition “Communication of Generations” in cooperation with the Emirates Association for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration, and through it aims to spread the art of Arabic calligraphy and affirm its pioneering role in Arab and Islamic civilization, in addition to achieving its vision in being a cultural platform that enhances the identity of the Emirate of Sharjah locally and globally, and an incubator for initiatives that enhance society’s awareness of the importance of museums as a cultural and educational destination.
The exhibition provides its visitors with the opportunity to identify the diversity of linear methods and tools used by the participating artists, as well as a series of workshops, programs and associate lectures that aim to enrich the audience’s knowledge of the arts of Arabic calligraphy and its multiple methods, while enhancing the participation of society and encouraging its members to interact with this art in a way that contributes to the consolidation of their artistic taste and their involvement in the cultural experience.
