Arab poetry forums in Africa come in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, which seeks to support and spread the Arabic language and enhance the presence of Arabic poetry in Africa and a station to highlight the talents of eloquent Arabic poetry and a bridge of communication within a comprehensive vision that promotes Arab culture and devotes its role in human building.

The forum was attended by His Excellency Henna Musa Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy in Nigeria, Dr. Mohamed Fourth Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Bibles at Bayer and Kono University – Nigeria, Dr. Ahmed Rabeh Abdel Rahman, Head of the Department of Arabic Language – Kadona State University, Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Yaqouti, a representative and head of the Academic Association for the Arabic Language and Literature in Nigeria, a number of diplomats, university professors, institutes and collection A large lover of Arabic poetry and its connoisseurs.

The General Coordinator, Dr. Omar Adam Mohamed, appreciated the efforts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and supported his generous His Highness, who had a great impact, as well as the efforts of the Cultural Affairs Department in the Culture Department in Sharjah to support and strengthen this initiative.

His Excellency the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy said that this meeting is dedicated to celebrating Arab poetry and its close association with African heritage, as Arab poetry is one of the oldest living literary traditions in the world. For centuries, its role was not limited to being a means of artistic expression, but also formed a warehouse of history, identity, and collective memory, as he played a distinctive role, through Arabic language and literature that continues our people with global civilizations He was involved in intellectual traditions and preserved the spiritual and cultural values ​​that still form our societies today.

She added that Arab poetry in Africa tells stories about steadfastness, knowledge, cultural integration and the search for meaning, which is part of our intangible cultural heritage, reminding us that the heritage is not only manifested in archaeological monuments and antiques, but is also preserved in the spoken word, song and oral traditions.

Dr. Mohamed Fourth Saad said that since the start of the Arab Poetry Forum in Nigeria, it has been a living space for creativity and a platform that embraced the young voices and discovered promising energies and legitimized the Arabic doors for every lover of the word, indicating that the forum is not just a cultural event but was a confident step in the path of strengthening the presence of the Arabic language in Nigeria, not only as an education language, but as a language of culture, taste and beauty.

He added that this forum contributed to the consolidation of the bridges of love and cultural cooperation between Nigeria and the UAE and opened new horizons with the Emirate of Sharjah, which has become a radiation center for the Arabic language and a beacon of thought and culture in the Arab and Islamic world.
