The conclusion of the first axis of the third phase of the national program for the rehabilitation of national cadres in the field of women and girls’ rights

Dubai, September 12/ WAM/ The General Women’s Union concluded the first axis of the third stage of the National Program for the Rehabilitation of National Cadres in the field of women and girls ’rights, which was implemented under the generous sponsorship of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak“ Mother of the Emirates ”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and in partnership with the Standing Committee for Human Rights, the Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights The United Nations in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Al -Mizhar Council in Dubai hosted the activities of this stage, with support and cooperation from the Department of Human Rights in the Community Development Authority.

Within the structure and stages of the program, the first stage presented a comprehensive entry into the concepts and principles of human and women’s rights, national constitutional and legislative frameworks, and relevant international references, including the agreement to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women “CEDAW”, advertisement and curriculum of Begin’s work, and also included training national cadres on the foundations and concepts to ensure a common base of knowledge.

As for the second stage, it focused on practical communication skills with the international and regional system, and how to benefit from follow -up mechanisms such as a comprehensive periodic review and the agreements reports, as well as building effective institutional channels that enhance the presence of the UAE in international forums related to women and girls.

The third stage included two axes, the first dealt with the use of data and gender indicators, the design of follow -up and evaluation frameworks, policy analysis from a gender perspective, and the construction of societal communication messages, with practical applications linking tools to local institutional reality.

While the second axis within the third stage will focus on applied laboratories to prepare national reports concerned with women and girls’ rights, simulating interaction with the mechanisms of United Nations such as “CEDAW” and the comprehensive periodic review, and reviewing legislation from a gender perspective, in addition to preparing trainers who are able to transfer knowledge and expand the impact of the program within institutions and society.

The national program continues to consolidate the UAE’s approach based on equality, non -discrimination and empowerment of women, in line with international obligations, covenants and sustainable development goals, especially the fifth goal.

With the completion of the second axis of the third stage, a more spacious national network will crystallize than competencies capable of preparing reports, analyzing legislation, and effective interaction with international mechanisms, in a way that supports decision makers and enhances the state’s position as a leading model in the field of women and girls’ rights.
