I am high weight to prove my ability in the most difficult sport

The national team player for the owners of determination and the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled Moza Al -Zyoudi revealed that she chose to exercise weightlifting (raising power), which is one of the difficult and arduous mathematics in terms of her training and heroism and its lack of great suitability for women, in order to reflect the strength of her personality and the will she enjoys, and confirms her ability to overcome the challenges of motor disabilities.

Al -Zyoudi described the weightlifting sport as the strongest way to express itself and its ability, which led her to be a strong and ambitious player.

She confirmed that her choice of the most difficult sports raised the ceiling of her ambition for the better, and that she is looking to participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, to achieve the achievement that she hopes to be a way to join many players to practice weightlifting (power raises).

Al -Zyoudi told «Emirates Today»: “She chose weightlifting because it is a sport that requires strength and persistence, and she wanted to break the stereotype that this sport is exclusive to men.” She added: “I loved the challenge, and I wanted to prove that Emirati women are able to compete in the most difficult fields, and that its disability, which is short of stature, did not stand in the way of practicing a difficult sport and distinguishing in it.”

She continued: “I seek to participate in the strongest world championships and raise the UAE flag in international forums, and socially I aspire to be an example for people of determination, and to contribute to spreading awareness of the importance of sport in building a strong and active personality in society, despite the most difficult and strongest challenges.”

Achievements and ambition

On her most prominent achievements, she said: “locally, I got several gold and silver medals in weightlifting championships within the country, and internationally participated in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 and succeeded in improving my digital, and my current ambition is to achieve a distinguished medal during my participation in the world championship hosted by Egypt next October.”

She added: “My ambition is to be a model for many young women to exercise, and I hope to open the way for other girls to trust their capabilities and achieve similar achievements.

Inspiring story

She concluded: “I hope that my story will be inspiring to others, as I faced many challenges at the beginning of my sports career because of my disability, but I decided to make it a motive and not to be an obstacle, and indeed I started with simple steps, with the support of my family and the Khorfakkan club for the disabled, and with perseverance and continuous training, I have proven to myself and others that the will makes the impossible.”
