El Gouna International Film Festival revealed that the international star, Kate Blanchett, will be the guest of the eighth session of the festival, which will be held from 16 to 24 October in the Egyptian coastal city of El Gouna.

The hosting of the global star comes in cooperation with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, and in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, considering that Kate Blanchett is the ambassador of goodwill to the commission, and her attendance coincides with the festival slogan this year titled: “Cinema for Humanity”, where the star won the “Oscar” prizes, which enjoys a remarkable global presence, both in the field of Cinema or humanitarian work, as a commitment from the festival to enhance cultural exchange and societal impact, and the “El Gouna Festival” is proud to receive it to participate in special events within the program this year.

The international star will be found at the opening ceremony of the festival, where she will be honored with a special prize; In appreciation of its commitment to raise awareness about the issues of forced displacement, as the El Gouna Film Festival will give Kate Blanchett the “Humanity Champion” award. The next day, Blanchett will participate in an inspiring dialogue session within the activities of the “Sini Gouna Forum”, in which she reviews her artistic and human journey, and she discusses her in this session, the ambassador of goodwill, the prominent Lebanese media, Raya Abi Rashid.

Kate Blanchett is known at the global artistic level, as her exceptional artistic career extends; To confirm her unique talent and depth as an actress, she won a wide acclaim for her roles in films, such as: “Elizabeth”, “Carol”, “Triar”, in addition to winning the “Oscar” prizes, for her role in the films: “The Tayyar” (Aviator), and “Blue Jasmine” (Blue JASMINE), she was also distinguished in the theater, and she held the position of technical director of the “Sydney Theater Kompany”.
