Opening the door for registration in the seventh edition of the Emirates Challenge for Tactical Teams 2026

Dubai, September 21 / WAM / Dubai Police announced the opening of registration for private police units, rapid intervention teams and tactical teams from different countries of the world to participate in the seventh edition of the Emirates Challenge for Tactical Teams “Swat 2026”, which is scheduled to be organized during the period from 7 to 11 February in the training city in Dubai.
Brigadier General Obaid Mubarak Al -Ketbi, Director of the General Department of Security of Bodies, Institutions and Emergency for Security Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Challenge Committee, said that opening the door for registration aims to limit the participating teams and enable them to prepare early and achieve the necessary readiness to compete, indicating that registration is available through the official challenge website (
He added that the challenge has become one of the largest international competitions specialized in the field of work of police units and tactical teams, pointing out that the sixth edition of the tournament entered the Guinness Book of Records with the participation of 103 teams representing 46 countries, in a global achievement that reflects the advanced position of the challenge at the level of international police championships.
He explained that the tournament witnessed an upward development in the number of participants since its inception in 2019 with the participation of 61 teams, then 46 teams in 2020, 34 teams in 2022, and 52 teams in 2023, to 73 teams in the 2024 version, which reflects the success of the challenge and its achievement of its goals in promoting specialized police work and exchanging experiences.
He stressed that the goal of the challenge is to exchange experiences between the police teams, to identify the latest global practices in the field of rapid intervention units, and to measure the levels of efficiency and readiness in facing various challenges, thanks to the continuous support from His Excellency General Abdullah Khalifa Al -Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, and ensuring the best equipment and organizational preparations to receive international teams.
The head of the organizing committee indicated that the participating teams will take five major challenges over a period of five days, including “the defiance of the attack”, “tactical operations”, “rescue officer”, “the high tower” and “crossing the barriers”, indicating that each competition requires showing the highest levels of physical and tactical efficiency to win the daily points that qualify for the final ranks.
Brigadier Al -Ketbi urged the specialized police teams to accelerate the registration and early preparation for participation, wishing success to all the teams participating in the next version.
