The Foreign Minister discusses with Ghada Wali enhancing cooperation with the United Nations

Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, received today Dr. Ghada Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in various fields of mutual interest.
Minister Abdel-Aty affirmed Egypt’s aspiration to host a regional center to train African countries to combat cybercrime, in partnership with the relevant United Nations office. Drugs and crime, pointing out the need to benefit from the office’s expertise in this field and train national and African cadres. The meeting also discussed Egypt’s desire to host a center of excellence for combating illicit trafficking in cultural property, to be the first of its kind in the world, and to reflect the priority Egypt attaches to this important field.
