A unified test to evaluate students ’capabilities in mastery of“ Chinese ”

Governmental school departments announced the opening of registration in the Chinese youth language test (YCT), explaining that the test begins on November 15, and it will be a unified international test aimed at assessing students’ capabilities to master the Chinese language and use it as a second language in their daily and academic lives.
She pointed out that the test will include students of the first episode who wish to participate, and comes as part of efforts to enhance the learning of international languages and develop students’ communication skills.
Schools said that the test will be paper and includes the evaluation of listening and reading skills at the first and second levels, which helps to measure the ability of students to understand auditory and absorb the texts written in the Chinese language.
Schools revealed the details of the test, as the first level includes 80 linguistic singles, and extends for 30 minutes, and it is required to obtain 120 of 200 degrees for success, and its fee is 100 dirhams, while the second level test includes 150 linguistic singles, and extends for 45 minutes, and it is required to obtain 120 of 200 degrees for success, and its fee is 120 dirhams.
Schools identified test sites held in a number of approved schools at the state level, including the “Hamdan bin Zayed” schools, “Yas” in Abu Dhabi, “Ahmed bin Zayed School” in Al Ain, and “Zayed City School”, in Al Dhafra, “Zayed Educational Complex – Al Warqa” in Dubai, and “Umm Ammar School for Basic Education” in Ajman.
On the registration mechanism and its requirements, the schools stated that the student should adhere to filling the registration form provided by the Chinese language teacher, and providing a recent digital personal photo in two inch and size of 20 – 100 KB.
She emphasized that the Chinese language teachers will provide training programs for students to help them prepare for the test, in addition to overseeing the test process on its specified day, explaining that students will receive their results and certificates issued by the CLC from China within three weeks of the test date.
