His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri emphasized that the UAE and Canada are gathered by strong and growing economic relations that have been strengthened during the past years through a series of high -level official visits and bilateral meetings, which reflects mutual trust and common desire to build on the achievements achieved, starting towards broader prospects of cooperation in economic and investment fields, building qualitative partnerships between the two friendly countries, and the vital role of the governmental and private sectors in support The process of sustainable growth and economic innovation in the two countries.
He pointed out that the selection of Alberta Province to host and hold the first version of Intensopia’s global dialogues is a new step to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, advanced technologies, tourism, aviation and advanced space technology, within the framework of Investopia’s vision aimed at expanding globally, and linking the international investment community to new opportunities in the fastest growing markets.
His Excellency added that the “Interestopia Global – Alberta” event reflects the joint concern between the UAE and Canada to develop various partnerships that serve sustainable development and economic innovation, in light of the growing bilateral economic ties between the two countries, especially since the total number of Canadian commercial licenses operating in the UAE markets rose to 14,719 licenses by the end of August 2025 and with a growth rate of approximately 19%, compared to 12,374 licenses at the end of August 2024, achieving remarkable growth, while the Canadian commercial agencies operating in the country recorded 8.57% during the same period, which reflects the attractiveness of the business and investment environment in the country, and confirms the growing position of the Emirates is a major gateway to the expansion of Canadian companies in the region’s markets.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri participated in a ministerial session in the presence of His Excellency Jean Charia, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and former Prime Minister of Quebec. The session dealt with the most prominent transformations taking place in the global economy, the role of international cooperation in building sustainable investment partnerships, as well as reviewing the prospects for integration between the innovation systems in the Emirates and Canada, the importance of employing advanced technology, artificial intelligence and clean energy in supporting future growth paths.
During the session, His Excellency Ben Touq reviewed the UAE’s vision in strengthening its position as a global center for the new economy, and the achievements of the national economy in recent years.
His Excellency stressed that the Emirati Canadian partnership, with its promising investment opportunities in the energy, food security sectors and advanced technologies, represents a model for cooperation that is able to keep pace with global economic changes, in order to support the sustainability of economic growth in the two countries.
During the event, a round table meeting was held for the Emirati -Canadian Business Council, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq, and a number of representatives of the government and private sectors in the Emirates and Canada.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance the investment partnership between the two sides, expand cooperation in the sectors of the new economy, facilitate the flow of investments and develop joint projects that support sustainable economic growth, and enable entrepreneurs in the two countries to expand externally.

The event also witnessed the holding of a number of dialogue sessions that brought together decision makers and business leaders in the Emirates and Canada, and dealt with priority topics aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries, as the first session entitled “The Transformation in Energy and Clean Technologies: Investing in the Future of Energy” reviewed the prospects for cooperation in the fields of hydrogen, carbon and solar energy, and innovative policies to support the shift towards more sustainable energy systems, in a way that enhances Economic competitiveness of both parties.
In the second session entitled “Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture”, the attendees discussed ways to link Emirati investments in flexible diets of climate and smart agriculture with Canadian capabilities as a major global source of food products.
The session reviewed the most prominent innovations in protected environmental agriculture, sustainable irrigation, and artificial intelligence, which opens the way for wide joint cooperation in this vital sector.
In the third session, entitled “Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Digital Digital Commellia”, the participants focused on the growing role of these technologies in the sectors of logistics, advanced manufacturing and clean energy, while discussing cooperation opportunities in developing organizational frameworks and creating new financing mechanisms that support the process of industrial transformation.
The fourth session dealt with “capital flows and investment over the border: building the Emirates – Canada Corridor”, the importance of deepening the investment ties between the two sides by strengthening the role of sovereign wealth funds and innovation centers, and expanding bold capital systems, allowing Canadian companies to access the Gulf markets, and opens the way for Emirati investments to enter the Canadian market.
While the last session under the title “Future Airports: A joint innovation of a new era of flights” discussed ways of cooperation in the aviation sector between Alberta and the UAE in the areas of the digital transformation of airports, the development of drone systems, and the innovation of more sophisticated and sustainable travel experiences.
During the event, Jay Sadiq, the founder and CEO of Fortyguard, presented a presentation entitled “Smarted cities in the future: innovation from the Emirates”, through which he shed light on the role of climate innovation in building more sustainable cities and comfort, and reviewed the experience of his emerging Emirati company that witnessed a global expansion in this field through its innovative solutions to improve the quality of life in Cities.
