For the first time in 7 years … the closing of the US government waved on the horizon

The US government is heading towards its first closure in nearly 7 years, as Congress faces a stubborn party predicament on financing and health care issues.
In light of this stalemate, Democrats and Republicans failed to reach an agreement that avoids the country with a large -scale stop of services, which threatens to lay off thousands of federal employees temporarily or permanently.
While the Democrats insist on linking the passage of the temporary financing bill by extending the benefits of ended health care, President Donald Trump and the Republicans refuse to negotiate, demanding the passage of a “clean” bill that is not controversial to ensure the continuation of the government’s work.
The government operations are scheduled to stop at 12:01 am tomorrow (Washington time) if the Senate fails to pass a draft law approved by the House of Representatives, which aims to extend federal funding for a period of 7 weeks, pending legislators of approval of annual spending bills.
The Senate Democrats assert that they will not vote for the project unless the Republicans included an extension of the advantages of health care that is about to be completed, in addition to other demands. On the other hand, President Donald Trump and the Republicans reject any negotiation, considering that the draft law should be “clean” and not controversial. So far, indicators have not become clear that either side is ready to decline before the deadline.
After a meeting with President Trump at the White House, he did not result in a significant progress, the leader of the Democratic minority in the Senate, Chak Schumer said: “It is now in the hands of the president. He can avoid closing if Republican leaders pushed to agree to what we want. ”
“I think we are heading towards the closure, because the Democrats will not do the right thing,” Vice President GD Vans said after the meeting.
Although partisanships over government spending is frequent in Washington, the current stalemate comes at a time when Democrats see a rare opportunity to use their influence to achieve political goals, while the desire of their constituents increases in confrontation with Trump. Republicans, who possess a majority of 53-47 in the Senate, are likely to need at least 8 democratic votes to break the “disruption” procedure and pass the draft law by a majority of 60 votes, especially with the expectation of Republican Senator Rand Ball against the project.
Trump, before entering the meeting that he gathered with Schumer and the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate John Thun, and Speaker of Parliament Mike Johnson and the leader of the Democrats in the House of Representatives, Hakim Jeffrez, explained that he does not intend to negotiate the current conditions of Democrats, saying: “Their ideas are not very good.”
While Schumer pointed out after the closed meeting that they had “explicit discussions” with Trump on health care, and claimed that the president was “unknown” that the costs of health insurance may be significantly high at the end of the subsidies on December 31, Trump did not show a preparation for serious negotiations.
After hours of the meeting, Trump posted a fake video of Sumer and Jeffrez, in which he mocked the Democrats, prompting Jeffrez to respond that “intolerance will not reach you anywhere,” adding: “We will not back down.”
Democrats are pressuring to extend the tax exemptions of the Facilitated Care Law (Obama Kiir), which has strengthened health insurance subsidies for millions of citizens since the Kofid.
The validity of these exemptions, designed to expand the coverage of low -income people, will end at the end of the year.
“We will not support a party party spending law that continues to undermine health care of ordinary Americans,” said Jeffrez.
On the other hand, the Democrats threw to vote for the financing law and discuss the tax exemptions later, noting that some Republicans are open to extension of exemptions, but with new restrictions imposed on them. Thun warned that “this is the kidnapping of the American people, and the American people will pay the price.”
For its part, federal agencies began sending their emergency plans if the financing stops, including details about offices that will remain open and the employees who will be temporarily demobilized. In its instructions to the agencies, the White House indicated that the closure may lead to widespread hairstyles throughout the government.
The Trump administration’s budget director, Ras Foot, described the position of the Democrats as “detention of the hostages. We will not accept this, ”although he had previously advised the militant conservatives in Congress using the ghost of closure to negotiate political concessions.
