“Bahrain and Kuwait” won the Best Sustainability Report in the Middle East

The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, a pioneer in the field of banking services for individuals and institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, won the award “Best Anti -Environmental Sustainability and Social Sustainability and Governance in the Middle East”, during the activities of the annual conference of the Investor Relations Association in the Middle East 2025 hosted by the Omani capital, Muscat, with the participation of a group of banking and financial leaders.

The award receives Mr. Mohamed Al -Ali, Head of Strategy and Sustainability at the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, in appreciation of the remarkable progress made by the bank in improving its disclosure related to environmental and social practices and corporate governance, consolidating governance practices, and effective involvement of various stakeholders, reflecting the bank’s commitment to sustainability as a strategic priority, and its keenness to keep pace with international best practices in transparency and disclosure And responsible banking services.

The Sustainability Report for the Bahrain and Kuwait Bank for the period 2022-2024 contributed a pivotal role in this honor, as it highlighted the bank’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, enhance green financing, in addition to the bank’s investments in enhancing employee well-being, community development, and youth empowerment, which reflected its comprehensive approach to sustainability that integrates environmental, social practices and corporate governance in all aspects of operations Bank.

The Jury of the Investor Relations Association in the Middle East has adopted strict evaluation criteria for selecting the winners, which included the clarity of the report and the ease of access to it, the durability of data collection and verification methodologies, the extent of its compatibility with the frameworks of environmental and social practices and global governance, such as the Global Reports Initiative (GRI) and the SASB Accounting Standards Council (SASB) and the work team concerned with financial disclosure Climate (TCFD), the committee also assessed the integration of the principles of environmental and social practices and governance in the structures of governance and risk management in the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, and the role of the board of directors in overseeing the sustainability agenda.
