Basketball stadium in Abu Dhabi with a design inspired by Emirati culture

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, through its tourist identity “Hayyak in Abu Dhabi”, in cooperation with the “New York Nix” team, revealed a renovated basketball stadium with a design inspired by the Emirati culture in “Sheikha Fatima Park”, in conjunction with the American Basketball League matches (NBA) Abu Dhabi 2025 provided by the Holding Company (ADQ).

The opening of the renewed stadium was witnessed by the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the CEO and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports James Doulan, along with the legends of the New York Nix team John Starks and Stephen Marberry. This initiative embodies the department’s commitment to developing experiences that enrich the lives of community members and visitors alike.

Emirati actress Aisha Saif Al -Hamrani inspired the new design of the stadium from the traditional Emirati “Al -Mandous” fund, which is usually made of wood and is used to preserve precious holdings. The design is re -visualized “Al -Mandous” decorations and inscriptions to cover the pitch, and surround the slogan of the “New York Nix” team, in an inspiring painting linking the authentic Emirati culture with basketball.

The exact artistic details, such as the design of the central stadium circle to mimic the “Al -Mandous” lock plate, and the delicacy of the side lines, shed light on the aesthetics of the Emirati traditional crafts, which turned the stadium into a vibrant artwork.

Al -Hamrani said: “The traditional“ Al -Mandous ”is characterized by its repeated motifs with a balance and rich in its engineering patterns, while the basketball field is divided into two identical aspects. By integrating the engineering motifs inspired by the“ Al -Mandous ”in the design, the stadium floor turns into a visual dialogue between traditions and sports, and between originality and modernity.

The “Sheikha Fatima Park”, from its location in the heart of the capital, is a favorite societal destination that embraces many green spaces, entertainment facilities, adventures, restaurants and spaces suitable for families. The renewed stadium calls on families, friends and basketball lovers to share the most beautiful moments during play and explore together.

The basketball field in the “Sheikha Fatima Park” is the second part of the Initiative of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to renew community stadiums in the emirate, after the inauguration of the basketball field in “Reem Central Park” in its new solution last year. This initiative reflects the message of the department aimed at providing exceptional experiences that encourage exercise and follow healthy lifestyles, celebrate culture, and enhance societal ties.

It is noteworthy that the American Professional Basketball League matches (NBA) Abu Dhabi 2025 presented by the Holding Company (ADQ) are witnessing two confrontations between the New York Nix and Viladelphia Shipini Sixers.
