249 competitions and 26 Olympic sports at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain

Kuwait, October 5/WAM/The Asian Olympic Council confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain entered the final stages of its preparations to host the Asian Youth Games and welcomes the best young athletes from all over Asia for the first time.
The tournament will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the sister Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22 to 31, and 4250 athletes and sports gather representing all 45 Asian National Olympic Committees, in addition to 900 administrators and 700 coaches.
The council said in a statement today, that the athletes will display their talents in 249 competitions in which medals are granted through 26 ancient Olympic and Asian sport, and competitions will be held in 23 sports sites, in addition to more than 30 stadiums for training and 3 main areas, ensuring the best conditions for athletes to compete.
The Council explained that the hosting of Bahrain for the Asian Youth Games course represents a historic achievement in the march of sport development in the Kingdom, with a team of 1,200 individuals and 3,000 volunteers in organizing the event through all competitions and sites, and the presence of thousands of fans, with the support of the official amulet of the “Shehab” games, which is the Arab Oryid deer that embodies vitality, strength, flexibility, and ambition.
The two additional two nimpos are received “Najm” and “Dana”, the Asian delegations, with the warmly representing the real ambassadors of Bahraini hospitality and embodying hope and optimism.
His Excellency Hussein Al -Muslim, Director General of the Asian Olympic Council, said that enthusiasm is increasing throughout Asia with the approaching date of the Asian Youth Games 2025 in light of the great confidence in the fact that the Kingdom of Bahrain will organize a major event that highlights future stars on the continent.
He added that Asian games are not just a competition, but rather an opportunity for young athletes to identify different Asian cultures, gain valuable experiences, and build permanent friendships that contribute to leaving a deep and inspiring legacy that encourages young people in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the continent to embrace sport and seek to achieve their dreams.
