The UAE leads the future of clean energy with an advanced strategy and technology

Abu Dhabi, October 5 / WAM / The UAE continues to consolidate its pioneering position on the global clean energy map, driven by seeing its rational leadership, which made sustainability a strategic axis of development, based on qualitative investments led by its national institutions and global companies towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

International experts in the energy sector unanimously agree that investing in clean energy in the UAE is no longer a development option, but also has become a strategic necessity that guarantees the sustainability of economic growth, and makes the state an essential partner in formulating the future of sustainable energy for the world.
In this context, Helmut von Struff, CEO of Siemens in the Emirates and the Middle East, confirms that the world stands at a crucial crossroads, in which the need to accelerate the integration of renewable energy sources has become more urgent than ever, and stressed that reaching a clean future free of carbon emissions not only depends on the speed of spreading renewable energy solutions, but also the effectiveness of employing technology to support the management of this transformation The important thing is, considering that “technology is no longer just a tool to do this, but rather the engine that drives us forward, to enable us to improve energy systems, reduce carbon emissions, and provide cleaner and more sustainable energy for the world.”
Von Strov praised the ambitious vision of the Emirates and its concrete steps on the ground through the implementation of leading projects that established international standards in the field of renewable energy infrastructure and the digital transformation of energy systems, stressing the importance of working to keep pace with this momentum through the most intelligent digital solutions, which are based on data, which have a high degree of flexibility, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
Frederick Judmil, CEO of Energy Management at “Schneider Electric”, said that the shift towards clean energy in the Emirates is no longer just a development of infrastructure, but rather has become the beginning of a new era based on innovation, flexibility and common prosperity.

He explained that what distinguishes the UAE approach is its long -term vision, by integrating smart technologies and enhancing cooperation between various sectors, the state adopts in the future in which energy is more efficient, easier to reach and more comprehensive.
He added that clean energy is not just a technical transformation, but rather a motivation to re -imagine how cities grow, how industries work, and how societies flourish.

Irshad Mansour, President and CEO of the Institute of Electrical Energy Research, stressed that the UAE possesses the basic elements that qualify it to lead a new era that combines clean energy and artificial intelligence, citing the state’s leading projects such as Barakah nuclear energy stations, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex equipped with storage capabilities, in addition to companies such as G42, and many leading and major international companies in the field of technology And artificial intelligence.

This leadership is based on an integrated national strategic framework, as it included a climate journey in the UAE energy sector to reach the goal of climate neutrality in 2050 many stations, including the launch of the UAE energy strategy and its updates and the operation of Baraka nuclear energy stations, the pioneering road map of hydrogen, the national strategy of hydrogen 2050 and many other steps and policies.
The UAE Energy Strategy 2050 aims to double the contribution of renewable energy 3 times by 2030, and to pump national investments between 150 to 200 billion dirhams during the same period to ensure that the increasing demand for energy in the country due to the accelerated economic growth.

This ambitious vision is embodied in a portfolio of giant projects, most notably the “Noor Abu Dhabi Station”, which is the largest solar energy station in the world, and the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex”, which is the largest solar energy project in one location in the world, and “Masdar City” is designed to be one of the most sustainable cities in the world, as a model for future cities that depend on renewable energy and clean technology.

The UAE’s investments were not limited to the energy generation sector, but rather extended to include the development of a sustainable transportation sector, as it supports clean mass transport solutions and encourages the spread of electric cars; The Dubai Metro is a prominent example as one of the largest public transport projects in the region, which effectively contributes to reducing traffic congestion and reducing carbon emissions.
