A fire in a chemical factory in northern Jordan

Fourteen people were injured in a fire that occurred in a chemical factory in Irbid Governorate in northern Jordan, according to what the Public Security Directorate announced on Sunday.
The directorate explained in a statement that “the fire broke out in a tank containing pesticides inside one of the chemical factories in Al-Hassan Industrial City in the Ramtha District of Irbid Governorate,” causing “14 people to suffer various injuries and bruises on the body.”
She confirmed that the specialized fire crews in the East Irbid Civil Defense Directorate extinguished the fire “and prevented it from spreading to the rest of the factory, which consists of two floors with a total area” of approximately 3,500 square meters.
The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate said that the ambulance crews provided the necessary first aid to the injured and transferred them to the nearest hospital to receive the necessary treatment, and an investigation was opened into the causes of the fire.
