Hussein Fahmy on the victory of Khaled Al -Anani, headed by UNESCO: a day of pride for Egypt
The Cairo International Film Festival, headed by the artist Hussein Fahmy, and all its members and his employees, congratulated Dr. Khaled Al -Anani, former Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, on the occasion of his historical victory in the position of Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In conjunction with the fifty -second anniversary of the glorious October victory, it is a global appreciation of Egypt’s cultural and civilizational status, where Dr. Khaled Al -Anani is the first Egyptian and Arab to take over this high position, and the second African since the foundation of the organization, which represents a historical achievement that reflects Egypt’s soft power and its pioneering role on the international scene. The arrival of an Egyptian figure of this size of science and expertise to the summit of UNESCO is a culmination of a careful career in the protection of heritage and humanitarianism, which we felt closely during his assumption of the Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism, and his management of major cultural files with all efficiency and competence, such as the majestic royal mummies procession. We are confident that his enlightened vision, which he expressed during his election campaign under the slogan of UNESCO for people & quot; will open new horizons for global cultural cooperation, and will enhance the organization’s message in building bridges of dialogue and peace between peoples.
