"Federal tax" 100 new processes are approved within the second phase of the digital bureaucracy zeroing programme

Dubai, 8 October / WAM / The Federal Tax Authority has approved 100 new processes to zero the digital bureaucracy through the Emirates Tax platform for digital tax services, based on proposals and ideas contributed to by customers and stakeholders based on their real-life experiences, through interactive meetings and workshops attended by about 560 participants.
This came during the “Zero Tax Bureaucracy Retreat” held by the Authority in Dubai today, under the slogan “Digital Services and Zero Bureaucracy,” and it was opened by His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Authority, in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Mohammed bin Taliah, Head of Government Services in the UAE Government, and with the participation of a group of customers and the Authority’s strategic partners, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation and discussing the best ways to speed up and simplify procedures, and identify challenges in this field. And find practical solutions to overcome them.
His Excellency Khaled Al-Bustani stressed the importance of customers and business sectors sharing their ideas and proposals for the sustainable development of the Authority’s services, and contributing to its initiatives to accelerate the implementation of the “Zero-Digital Bureaucracy” program launched by the wise leadership to facilitate people’s lives, achieve a qualitative leap in the mechanisms of government transactions and procedures, and promote an environment that stimulates business and attracts talents and minds.
He said: “We are keen to constantly communicate with customers and business sectors, to learn about their opinions and contributions to the continued improvement of the Authority’s services and procedures. Their opinions are taken into account and we always welcome the comments and opinions of those concerned.”
His Excellency explained in a statement to “WAM” on the sidelines of the retreat that the UAE ranks first in the world in terms of ease of tax procedures, thanks to the wise vision of its wise leadership, and the continuous efforts made by the Authority in simplifying operations and developing digital services in order to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and satisfaction among customers, and this advanced position constitutes a source of pride and responsibility at the same time, because reaching it does not mean stopping, but rather motivates us to continue. Improvement and development to achieve the best tax services in the world.
He pointed out that the concept of eliminating bureaucracy is not limited to digital transformation only, explaining that some entities may implement digital services but still suffer from digital bureaucracy.
He said that digital transformation is not a goal in itself, but rather a means to facilitate the customer’s journey and make it smoother and more effective.
Abdullah Al Bastaki, Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector at the Federal Tax Authority and Head of the Implementation Team of the “Zero-Government Bureaucracy” program, honored a group of customers and employees of the Authority who presented effective ideas and suggestions that contributed to strengthening the Authority’s efforts to improve its services and provide more facilities to expand initiatives to zero-out bureaucracy in the tax sector.
The retreat witnessed brainstorming sessions on the impact of the zero-bureaucracy program on customer satisfaction, proposals for further improving services, and measuring their impressions about the improvements that have already been made recently and are being implemented.

While the Authority’s new initiatives were reviewed within the framework of the second phase of zeroing out the digital bureaucracy, the Authority held 24 interactive meetings and workshops during the last period, which resulted in more than 589 development proposals. Based on these suggestions, more than 100 “zeroing for its services” were approved via the “Emirates Tax” digital platform, of which 64 zeroing processes were completed, and the rest of the zeroing processes are being completed.
The Authority indicated that one of the most important positive, tangible effects of the new improvements is the reduction of required documents by 53%, the reduction of fields by 55%, and the reduction of service completion time by 77%, as the Authority used innovative techniques to reduce the number of fields, reduce the cost to customers, and reduce the time for completing services. These efforts contributed to strengthening the country’s leadership in the tax field, as the UAE achieved first place. Globally, in the tax and lack of bureaucracy index, the ease of paying taxes index, and the tax evasion index, the use of paper has been reduced, the number of documents required to implement services has been reduced, and service facilities have been provided to achieve a tangible impact within short periods of time.
