During a call with the Head of State…the Egyptian President condemns the Iranian attacks on the UAE and a number of Arab countries
Abu Dhabi, February 28 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today a phone call from his brother, His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt. He addressed the military escalation taking place in the region and the risks it entails of expanding the conflict and its dangerous repercussions on regional and international security, stability and peace.
During the call, the Egyptian President expressed Egypt’s condemnation and denunciation of the blatant Iranian attacks that targeted the lands of the UAE and a number of sisterly Arab countries, and its solidarity with the UAE in everything it does to defend its land, security and sovereignty… stressing the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and integrity of these countries and the principle of good neighborliness and exercising the utmost degree of self-restraint at this dangerous stage in the history of the region.
The two sides stressed the necessity of giving priority to the language of dialogue and diplomacy in order to avoid expanding the scope of the conflict and sliding the region into a spiral of escalation that threatens regional and international security and peace.
