The Ministerial Council for Development, headed by Mansour bin Zayed, reviews developments in the implementation of government policies and initiatives

ABU DHABI, 9th October, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office, chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Council for Development, which was held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, during which developments in the implementation of government policies and initiatives in various sectors of government work were discussed.

The meeting’s agenda included discussing the results of implementing national policies and strategies in the field of groundwater, consumer goods, national industries, and direct investment outside the country, in addition to proposed regulatory legislation in the social empowerment and government services sectors.

In government affairs, the Council reviewed proposals submitted by federal agencies aimed at improving the level of services provided to society, and enhancing the efficiency of government work and the union’s public finances. The meeting also included discussion of national reports related to the environment, climate change, food safety and energy sustainability files, in addition to reviewing developments in the progress of work in the areas of joint Gulf economic action, the results of the work of the Securities and Commodities Authority, and reviewing the recommendations of the National Council. Federal Council regarding “the government’s policy in managing and sustaining endowments and zakat funds and enhancing their societal role.”
