Mohammed bin Rashid witnesses part of the “Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai” bicycle race

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, witnessed part of the “Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai” race for the elite men, which was held yesterday, as part of the competitions of the 10th edition of the Ladder Cycling Championship, organized by the private office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and under the patronage and directives of His Highness, where Alessandro Burgo from the “Ahly Youth Wishes” team was crowned champion of the race, in a competition that brought together the strongest Riders with a total prize money of one million dirhams.
Borgo succeeded in obtaining first place, and winning a financial prize amounting to 200,000 dirhams, after a strong competition that extended for a distance of 200 km, starting from the “Diwan of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai”, passing through the most prominent historical and cultural landmarks in Dubai, and arriving at the tournament village at the closing line inside the Al Marmoum Reserve in the Saih Al Salam area.
Julius Johansen, from the “My Wash” team, won second place and a financial prize of 150,000 dirhams, and Abdullah Jassim Al Ali, from the “Dubai Residency” team, came in third place and won a financial prize of 100,000 dirhams.
In terms of team rankings, the “Ahli Shabab Omniyat” team came in first place, the “Dubai Residence” team came in second place, and the “Ahli Shabab Omniat 2” team came in third place, and Polly Grega, from the “Ahli Shabab Omniyat 2” team, won the award for best cyclist in the over-40 category.
In the presence of the Director General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, the Deputy Director General of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, Issa Al Mutaiwee, launched the starting signal for the start of the race competitions at the “Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai.”
The launch was also witnessed by the Director-General of Dubai Municipality, Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, the Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Hareb, and the representative of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai in the organizing committee, Khalifa bin Aboud.
Omair bin Juma Al Falasi extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, for his unlimited support, the impact of which we feel in every edition of the race.
He explained that the “Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai” race witnessed a record participation that reflects its growing status, as 289 cyclists representing 51 nationalities competed within 29 teams, continuing the remarkable success achieved last year, to come in its 10th edition stronger and bigger than ever before.
He added, “The strength of the race stems from the challenge it presents over a distance of 200 kilometers, in addition to its exceptional route that starts from the heart of Dubai in front of a landmark that embodies the emirate’s history, origins and development, passing through prominent stations on Sheikh Zayed Road such as Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future, reaching the finish line amidst the picturesque desert nature of the Al Marmoum Reserve, the unique destination in the world among desert reserves, which is at the forefront of the sporting and tourism scene at the international level.”
The 10th edition of the Ladder Cycling Championship, which was held under the slogan “10 Years of Achievements and Success,” was launched last month with the holding of the Emirati men’s amateur race, which was held under the slogan “Security and Security,” in cooperation with the Dubai Police General Headquarters. The race started from the headquarters of the Dubai Police Academy, while the women’s race is scheduled to be held on January 25th, while the women’s desert race will be held on January 31st, and the men’s desert race on February 1st. 2026.
It is noteworthy that the tournament is being held in cooperation with a number of strategic partners, including: Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Government Media Office, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, Dubai Sports Channel, Emirates Cycling Federation (general referee), and Dubai Film.
