The UAE welcomes the agreement on the first phase of the ceasefire framework in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates welcomed the announcement by His Excellency US President Donald Trump of reaching an agreement on the first phase of the ceasefire framework in Gaza, stressing the prominent and important role he played in supporting this path and urging the parties to reach urgent understandings that will stop the tragic war and work to bring peace and stability to the Strip.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the UAE’s appreciation for the great efforts made by His Excellency US President Trump in leading these endeavors, praising in this context the tireless efforts made by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Turkey to facilitate the understandings that led to this agreement.

The Ministry expressed its hope that this agreement would constitute a positive step towards ending human suffering in the Gaza Strip, and paving the way for a just and lasting settlement that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and restores security and stability to the region.

The Ministry stressed the importance of building on this progress through the commitment of all parties to the terms of the agreement, self-restraint, and working seriously to resume a comprehensive political process leading to a two-state solution, in a way that achieves security, peace and prosperity for all the peoples of the region, reaffirming the UAE’s firm position in support of all regional and international efforts aimed at ending the escalation and achieving a just and comprehensive peace, with the need for humanitarian and relief aid to reach the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in a comprehensive manner.
