Algeria is the fifth Arab team to reserve its place in the World Cup

The Algerian national team qualified for the fifth time in its history to the FIFA World Cup, after defeating Somalia 3-0 on Thursday in Oran, in the ninth and penultimate round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
At Miloud Ghaddi Stadium in Oran, in front of about 40,000 spectators, captain Riyad Mahrez, the Saudi Al-Ahly star, led his country to victory by assisting the first and third goals of Mohamed Ammoura (6 and 58), and scoring the second (19).
The Algerian team became the fifth Arab team to reserve its place in the World Cup, after Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
