NATO will conduct nuclear exercises next Monday

NATO declared (NATO) said that starting Monday, it will conduct its annual nuclear exercises with the participation of about 2,000 personnel, 71 aircraft, and 14 countries, without using any real nuclear weapons.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said from the air base in Volkel in the Netherlands, which is hosting this year’s exercises, that "We do this because it helps us ensure that we remain able to Nuclear deterrence is credible, reliable, safe and effective to the greatest extent possible"

The official in charge of nuclear policies in the alliance, Jim Stokes, confirmed that "The exercise is routine and does not target any country, nor is it linked to any real-life event"
The maneuvers, which will last about two weeks, will be carried out from military bases in Belgium, Britain and Denmark, over the North Sea.
These exercises come at a time when the airspace of NATO countries has witnessed a number of intrusions by Russian drones, in addition to the flying of unidentified drones over Copenhagen last month.
The colonel said. American Daniel Bunch, responsible for NATO’s nuclear operations, said "We are closely monitoring these repeated violations"adding that "Drones are not a new threat to us, we understand them well".
