After a violent earthquake, an earthquake measuring 6.9 Richter strikes the southern Philippines


Announced by PhilippinesEarthquakes and Volcanoes: A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck on Friday evening the town of Manai in the southern province of Davao Oriental, in the same area that had previously witnessed a 7.4-magnitude earthquake that killed five people and caused landslides and damage to buildings.

The institute explained that the new earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers in The Philippine Trench, and it is not yet clear whether it is a seismic aftershock of the first tremor or a separate earthquake.
