The national jiu-jitsu team is heading to China to participate in the Asian Beach Games

Abu Dhabi, April 19 / WAM / The delegation of our national jiu-jitsu team left this morning, heading to the Chinese city of Sanya, to participate in the sixth Asian Beach Games “Sanya 2026”, which is organized by the Olympic Council of Asia, and will be held during the period from 22 to 30 April this year, after an intensive preparation phase that witnessed the completion of technical and physical preparations in preparation for this important continental competition.

About 3,800 male and female players representing 45 Asian countries are participating in this continental event, competing in 14 sports, in a scene that reflects the size and importance of the event on the continent.

This participation is of particular importance because the tournament represents an advanced competitive platform that reflects the level of development of jiu-jitsu, and constitutes an opportunity for the national team to enhance its superiority and consolidate the UAE’s leadership on the continental scene.

Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, who heads the team’s delegation, stressed that participation in this event represents an important milestone in the development of the technical system, and an important opportunity to interact with different schools and measure readiness in a diverse competitive environment, in line with the Federation’s approach to developing the players’ capabilities and raising their readiness to maintain technical and tactical excellence under different circumstances, and enhancing the team’s presence in continental and international competitions.

He added that the return of the tournament after the last edition, which was held in 2016 in Vietnam, gives it a special competitive dimension, in light of the wide participation of strong teams across the continent, expressing confidence in the ability of the team’s players to provide a level that reflects the amount of work that was done during the last period.

For her part, player Asma Al Hosani said that the preparations for this participation focused on raising the level of technical readiness, improving the ability to read competitors’ methods and dealing with different scenarios within the match, especially in light of facing strong players representing the elite teams on the continent level, noting that the accuracy of implementation and speed of decision-making play a very important role in resolving confrontations.

She added: “I enter the tournament with great confidence and ambition to achieve the best results, win the largest number of colorful medals, and represent the country in an image that befits its status in the sport of jiu-jitsu.”

Our national team is participating in the competitions with a balanced lineup that includes an elite group of male and female players. Participating in the men’s category are: Omar Ali Al Suwaidi, Khaled Muhammad Al Shehhi, Sultan Muhammad Hassan, Sultan Imad Jabr, Mahdi Khaled Al Awlaki, and Sultan Faisal Al Hosani, while the women’s list includes: Hessa Thani Al Shamsi, Asma Hassan Al Hosani, Zamzam Muhammad Al Hammadi, Shamsa Khamis Al Ameri, Shamma Yousef Al Kalbani, and Mahra Muhammad. Mahfouz, in a move that reflects the strength of the talent base and the balance of gender attendance in continental competitions.
