"Al Owais Cultural" It celebrates the centenary of Sultan Al Owais and honors Arab innovators in November

Dubai, October 14 / WAM / The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation is organizing the Al Owais Cultural Awards distribution ceremony in its nineteenth session, on November 13, 2025 at the InterContinental Hotel Dubai, with wide participation of writers, intellectuals and media professionals from inside and outside the country.

The award is considered one of the most prominent cultural awards in the Arab world, as it is given once every two years to honor an elite group of creators in the fields of literature, thought and culture.

Last June, the Foundation announced the winners of its current session, who are the Iraqi poet Hamid Saeed in the poetry category, the novelist Inaam Kachaji in the story, novel and play category, Dr. Hamid Lahmdani in the literary and critical studies category, and Dr. Abdul Jalil Al-Tamimi in the humanitarian and future studies category.

This session is of particular importance as it coincides with the centenary of the late poet Sultan bin Ali Al Owais, as the value of the award was raised to $150,000 for each winner, and major cultural events were organized to celebrate his literary legacy, most notably an international symposium in cooperation with UNESCO in Paris, and a concert at the Dubai Opera House, in addition to the issuance of commemorative stamps and art exhibitions that highlight his poetic career, Amal.
