At least 20 people killed in a bus fire in western India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his "Shocked by the loss of human life"stressing that the government will provide compensation to the families of the victims in the amount of 200,000 rupees (more than $2,200) for each victim.

According to the latest available data, in 2023, more than 480,000 accidents were recorded on Indian roads, resulting in deaths. Nearly 173,000 people were killed, and nearly 463,000 others were injured.
