المملكة: 600 new trees decorate the Jeddah-Jazan International Road as part of an environmental initiative


Saw Al-Laith Governorate Implementing a specific initiative to increase Vegetation cover, where more than 600 seedlings of local trees were planted along vital sites that included public facilities and the Corniche Road in Al-Wasqa, in addition to parts of the Jeddah-Jazan International Road.

This initiative, which was implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculturein Al-Laith Governorate, in cooperation with Al-Shawaq Municipality, as part of national efforts to combat desertification and reduce the effects of climate change.

Those in charge of the initiative confirmed that the tree species were carefully selected to be suitable for the environmental conditions of the region, ensuring their sustainability and natural growth.

Efforts Ongoing

They explained that it represents a link in a series of ongoing efforts made by the Ministry’s office to spread the culture of afforestation in society. This is done by involving various government agencies and local community members in volunteer programs and awareness campaigns, with the aim of consolidating social responsibility towards the environment and supporting sustainable development in the long term.

This step seeks to achieve a direct positive impact on the lives of citizens and residents by improving the urban landscape and providing green spaces that contribute to softening the atmosphere. The initiative also falls within a broader framework to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which attaches great importance to increasing the green area and enhancing the environmental balance in various regions of the Kingdom.
