CEO of "Dubai for the future"International cooperation is necessary to meet the challenges of the digital age

DUBAI, 15 October / WAM / His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said that the world is witnessing rapid transformations today due to developments in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, which requires strengthening cooperation in setting legislative frameworks and digital governance to ensure that societies benefit from these transformations in a way that serves all of humanity.

He stressed to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the Future Councils held in Dubai, their aspiration to transform the intellectual discussions at the meetings into practical plans and initiatives that contribute to building safer and more sustainable systems, explaining that international dialogue and cooperation are the only way to confront the growing challenges, whether geopolitical, digital, or technical.

He pointed to the cooperation between the UAE and the World Economic Forum, which represents a pioneering model in building international partnerships aimed at anticipating the future, pointing out that this close relationship contributed to the launch of qualitative initiatives that strengthened the position of the UAE and Dubai as a global center for dialogue and formulating innovative solutions to common challenges. He added that the Global Future Councils represent one of the most prominent fruits of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the World Economic Forum, and constitute a comprehensive umbrella for exchanging experiences and formulating common visions on issues that shape the future.

He explained that this year’s sessions focus on cybersecurity issues as one of the biggest challenges facing the world today, pointing out that this file is closely linked to the digital economy and artificial intelligence, and at the same time represents a source of huge economic opportunities and risks amounting to billions of dollars annually.
