Italy – Venice, 15 October / WAM / The UAE National Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, in conjunction with World Food Day, continues to present ideas that serve global food production through its innovative exhibition titled “On Low Fire,” curated by architect Azza Abu Alam, Assistant Professor at Zayed University and co-founder and director of research at Holsom Studio.

Under the slogan “Hand in Hand for Food and a Better Future,” the world celebrates World Food Day 2025 (October 16) and focuses on global cooperation to build a peaceful, sustainable, prosperous and food-secure future. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations also calls on governments, organizations, sectors and local communities to work together to ensure everyone’s access to a healthy diet and to live in harmony with the planet. the earth.

Regarding the convergence of the content of the On Fire exhibition and World Food Day, Azza Abu Alam said: “The content of the On Fire exhibition intersects with the calls for World Food Day 2025 in a clear and integrated manner, as they share the vision aimed at building a more sustainable and comprehensive food system, noting that the exhibition is a vital platform for showcasing innovations and modern technologies that enhance agricultural production and are derived from the UAE’s built environment and preserve Natural resources, which is fully in line with the slogan “Hand in Hand for Food and a Better Future”.

She added: “Both cases highlight the need to transform food systems to be more capable and capable of facing environmental and economic challenges. From here, it can be said that the exhibition is not limited to being an artistic and research exhibition space, but rather an applied act of the vision of World Food Day, translating ideas into concrete projects and initiatives that can be included in the local Emirati environment.”

Regarding the unique perspective that the exhibition offers, which could truly contribute to supporting the global dialogue on enhancing global food supplies, Azza said: “One of the most prominent features of the UAE’s vision in enhancing global food supplies is the focus on developing local agricultural techniques adapted to the harsh desert climate.
