The UAE provides urgent aid to relief those affected by the Philippine earthquake

Abu Dhabi, 16 October / WAM / The UAE, through the Emirates International Aid Agency, provided urgent relief assistance to approximately 40,000 families affected by the earthquake that struck the island of Cebu in the center of the friendly Republic of the Philippines, under the supervision of the UAE Embassy in Manila, in cooperation with the competent local authorities and authorities, and in support of the national efforts made by the Philippine government to confront the effects of the disaster.
This response comes from the UAE’s humanitarian mission, and an embodiment of its international responsibility towards peoples and communities exposed to natural disasters and crises, and its keenness to alleviate the suffering of those affected, accelerate early recovery efforts, and enhance stability.
His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al Qattam Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, stressed the country’s permanent support for the friendly Republic of the Philippines, and the strong bilateral relations between the two countries for more than 50 years, noting that this aid comes in light of the directives of the wise leadership, and in line with the approach of the country’s government and people to stand by all the countries of the world and their peoples in times of crisis.
This came in the wake of the earthquake that struck the island of Cebu in the central Philippines, causing the death and injury of dozens of people, causing severe damage, and forcing hundreds of residents to flee to temporary shelters.
