The University of Dubai and ORA launch a strategic partnership to enhance student employment

Dubai, January 20 / WAM / The University of Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the ORA Group, marking the launch of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing students’ employability, supporting professional development, and expanding the horizons of cooperation between the academic sector and the business sector to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.

The memorandum was signed on the university campus in the presence of a number of academic and executive leaders and was signed by His Excellency Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, and Lana Naguib Sawiris, Global Chief Commercial Officer of ORA Group.

The partnership focuses on providing practical training and employment opportunities for university students and graduates, participating in employment fairs, organizing workshops led by experts from the industrial sector, in addition to cooperating in executive and vocational education programs in a way that enhances the exchange of knowledge and experiences and links academic outcomes with practical application.

Under the agreement, ORA Group employees and their first-degree relatives benefit from discounts on tuition fees, in addition to providing access to academic and professional programs offered by the University of Dubai. The memorandum also encourages the group’s participation in industrial advisory councils and the study of providing voluntary support to the Alumni and Friends Program for financial aid, in confirmation of the commitment of both parties to developing talent and achieving societal impact.

Al Bastaki stressed that the university is keen to build strategic partnerships that contribute to preparing future cadres capable of competing, explaining that cooperation with ORA embodies an effective model that links academic excellence with the reality of the work environment and provides real paths for training, employment, and continuous learning.

Lana Naguib Sawiris said that talent development represents an institutional responsibility, stressing that integrating practical experiences in education contributes to bridging the gap between learning and leadership and preparing competencies capable of contributing in an accelerating global environment.

In turn, Amina Al-Marzouq, Director of the Center for Training, Career Development and Alumni Relations at the university, explained that the partnership directly translates into real opportunities for students and graduates and enhances their readiness from the first day of work.

The memorandum reflects a joint vision to invest in human capital, enhance integration between education and industry, and support building a sustainable workforce in the UAE and the region.
