CEO of"edge": Our defense products reach more than 100 countries and 70% of our sales are for export
Abu Dhabi, January 20 / WAM / Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, confirmed that the defense solutions and products developed by the group today cover more than 100 countries around the world, which reflects the growing international confidence in the UAE defense industries.
Al Marar said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that EDGE entered the year 2026 with more than 180 ready-made technical solutions, in addition to about 40 solutions being developed over the next two years, noting that all of these solutions depend on artificial intelligence technologies to enhance the defense and security industries manufactured in the UAE.
He explained that the group’s participation in the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 exhibitions reflects the UAE’s leading position in the field of advanced technologies, especially unmanned systems, pointing out that EDGE is displaying during the event an integrated set of products and solutions for land, sea and air, all of which are unmanned systems.
He pointed out that EDGE plays a pivotal role in developing the technical aspect by creating smart and advanced solutions and providing them to its partners around the world, stressing that the group includes more than 18,000 employees from 90 nationalities, which provides an environment rich in diverse experiences and enhances opportunities for innovation and sustainable development.
He said, “We in the UAE are proud of our armed forces and our security and police forces, and we seek to provide defense and security products that enable them to perform their daily tasks with high efficiency so that the UAE keeps its people safe and continues to consolidate its position as one of the safest countries in the world.”
Al Marar stressed that the UAE has always been bold in adopting smart solutions and a pioneer in testing and applying the latest technologies, explaining that more than 70% of Edge sales during the past year were export-oriented and varied between unmanned systems, weapons and security solutions, which reflects the quality of the Emirati product and its ability to compete globally, and confirms the country’s position as a source of advanced technologies.
