The Sheikh of Al-Azhar praises the President’s support for Al-Azhar’s message and appreciates the UAE’s efforts in promoting the values ​​of tolerance

His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, stressed the depth of the relations between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif with the leadership of the Emirates and its people, praising the great support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him” for the mission of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and the results of this cooperation in terms of joint global humanitarian and cultural projects and initiatives.

This came during the reception today at the headquarters of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.

His Eminence expressed his wishes to the Ambassador for success in performing his duties and strengthening the bonds of cooperation in the scientific, cultural and humanitarian fields.

His Eminence the Grand Imam praised the consistent Emirati approach that this cooperation embodies, based on promoting the values ​​of human brotherhood, tolerance and positive coexistence, praising the UAE’s continued support for the brotherly Palestinian people, as an extension of the humanitarian journey whose foundations were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God have mercy on him.”

For his part, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi stressed the UAE’s pride in the great efforts made by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the true religion and promoting the culture of tolerance and human brotherhood, expressing his aspiration to enhance cooperation between the two sides and pursue joint initiatives in a way that serves humanitarian and development issues and strengthens the established fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples.
