"Nuclear oversight" Showcasing its latest digital innovations "GITEX 2025"
Dubai, October 17 / WAM / The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, during its participation in the GITEX Global 2025 exhibition, reviewed its latest projects and achievements in the field of digital transformation and smart systems that support the UAE’s commitment to safety, innovation and sustainability.
The Authority highlighted a group of innovative systems and technologies that it developed to enhance levels of nuclear and radiation safety in the country, including the Nuclear Safety Smart Panel System, which uses artificial intelligence techniques to monitor the environmental and climatic conditions surrounding the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and predict the potential effects of climate change.
The Authority also reviewed the radiation monitoring network, which provides direct monitoring of radiation levels in various parts of the country, and acts as an early warning system in the event of any radiation emergency.
She highlighted the Environmental Laboratory Management System, which is an integrated digital platform that facilitates environmental analysis and workflow management in laboratories, in addition to the virtual reality training system that enables participants to engage in simulation experiences in the fields of emergency response, inspection, and awareness-raising, in line with the state’s directions in enhancing the readiness of emergency teams and improving rapid response.
It presented the digital services portal that allows issuing, amending and renewing licenses for entities dealing with radioactive materials or sources, in addition to issuing import and export permits, and providing device calibration services through the secondary standard laboratory for dosimetry.
The Authority also presented the contribution of the Emirates Nuclear and Radiological Academy in supporting the “We are the Emirates 2031” vision, through e-learning programs and capacity building in the nuclear and radiological sector.
