Sharjah Book Fair 2025 is open for reservations to participate in its series of exclusive workshops

Sharjah, 20 October / WAM / The Sharjah International Book Fair announced the launch of an exclusive series of pre-booked workshops during the activities of its 44th session, which will be held from 5 to 16 November at the Expo Center Sharjah, aiming to expand the horizons of creative talents for audiences of all ages and nationalities, educate them, and enhance their professional development.

The exhibition provides participants with an integrated experience in which they learn from the best experts and specialists in the world in the fields of translation, creative writing, film and television writing, the publishing industry, and other skills and creative and cognitive arts.

For lovers of language and literary translation, award-winning translator Professor Lisa Dillman offers a workshop entitled “What Translators Really Do.”

In this workshop, Dillman unveils the creative and complex profession of translation and guides participants to overcome the challenges of cultural adaptation and the strategic choices a translator makes to preserve the author’s unique voice across linguistic boundaries.

International award-winning Vietnamese novelist Dr. Nguyen Van Quy Mai leads the “Creative Writing” workshop, through which she helps writers draw on their personal experiences and cultural roots as a source of inspiration through guided exercises and constructive feedback to enable them to discover and develop authentic stories.

The workshops provide aspiring writers and publishing professionals with a unique opportunity to learn from publisher Singita Mehta’s From Final Draft to Complete Book: The Role of the Editor in the Book Publishing Process to learn about the publishing process as she reveals the important techniques and key decisions that transform a rough draft into a published book.

For those aspiring to succeed in writing television series, Matthew Whitten, screenwriter of the series “Pretty Little Liars,” offers an intensive workshop entitled “Five and a Half Steps to Success in Experimental Writing.”

A series of artistic and creative workshops encourage participants to explore different forms of expression, with the “Fine Thread Art” workshop offering a mix of engineering and design, while the “Music Box” workshop takes participants on a journey to create a personalized musical souvenir, while comic book lovers will learn how to transform the narratives of their favorite characters into unique hand embroidery in the “Embroidered Stories” workshop.

The exhibition program includes a group of workshops that focus on enhancing the quality of healthy life through food, including the “Preparing Balanced Lunch Meals” and “Delicious Nuts” workshops, in addition to the “Food Allergies” workshop, which provides guidance and guidance to prepare delicious and safe meals that suit special dietary needs.

Participants discover the joy of design and construction in a series of creative workshops that enrich their imagination, including “Mini Library,” “Mini Café,” “Make Your Frame,” and “Together We Embroider,” in addition to the creative challenge workshop, “Build Your House.”
