Honoring the winners of"Sharjah Award for Library Literature 2025"

Sharjah, October 20 / WAM / Sharjah Libraries celebrated the winners of the twenty-fifth session of the Sharjah Library Literature Award in recognition of their research and professional contributions to developing the library and information sector and enhancing the role of knowledge in serving cultural and societal development.

This came during the launch of the activities of the Sharjah Library Literature Award 2025 Forum, which was hosted by the Sharjah Book Authority today at its headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, CEO of the Authority, and an elite group of officials, academics, researchers and specialists in library and information sciences.

Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri honored the winners in the three award categories, namely the research category, and the first place went to Dr. Riyad bin Nasser Al-Fariji, the second place to Dr. Yasmine Khaled, and the third place to Dr. Abdul Rahman Ahmed Farraj.

While “House of Wisdom” was honored with the second category award, which is “Best Arab Library or Information Institution,” while the “Best Practice or Project in the Field of Specialization” category was won by “The Project of the Department of Manuscripts and Preservation of Cognitive Heritage – Khorfakkan University Library.”

The first day of the forum witnessed dialogue sessions and research papers that discussed the future of libraries in the era of artificial intelligence, and the role of modern technologies in developing information services and knowledge management, in addition to reviewing Arab and international experiences in digital transformation and smart digitization.

The participants discussed the importance of continuous professional development for workers in this sector, and ways to build effective partnerships between information institutions and cultural and creative industries, thus contributing to strengthening the library’s position as a center for innovation and lifelong learning.
