The third Saudi Film Forum kicks off tomorrow in Riyadh

The Saudi Film Forum in its third edition, under the slogan "A meeting that changes the scene"During the period from 22 to 25 October in the city of Riyadh, organized by Film Commission, with the participation of an elite group of film makers.

The forum is a major national platform that brings together different spectrums The cinematic sector of filmmakers, producers, distributors, investors, academics, and young talents, in a comprehensive dialogue that contributes to shaping the future of the Saudi film industry, and reviewing investment opportunities and pioneering international experiences that enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness and its global presence in the field of filmmaking.

The forum’s dialogue program includes specialized sessions that address multiple topics, including issues of investment and film financing, empowering the industry locally, intellectual property, archiving and preserving visual identity, international and regional partnerships, and artificial intelligence in production processes and beyond, in addition to discussing the role of the non-profit sector in supporting cinematic programmes, and reviewing talent development paths and academic programs in Saudi universities, in addition to celebrating Saudi screen makers and their distinguished experiences, and discussing the reality of cooperation with international film bodies and recent developments in the fields of distribution and display.

The activities accompanying the forum are also varied to form an integrated artistic and cultural experience for visitors from different groups, from professionals and amateurs to children, through a series of interactive and educational activities that highlight the aesthetics of cinema and open new horizons for creativity, learning and discovery. Activities include the Aerial Cinematography Competition, the Misk Art Fair, the Talent Zone, the Technology and Innovation Zone, the Film Podcast, the Kids Zone, the Business Space, the Forum Murals, the Open Short Film Competition, and the Best Pavilion Design Competition.

Organizing the third edition of the forum comes as a continuation of the qualitative successes achieved by the previous two sessions and a growing global presence, and to consolidate the role of the Film Commission in supporting creators, empowering national competencies, and creating a stimulating environment for a thriving Saudi cinema industry that contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to make the Kingdom a regional center for the creative and cultural production industries, and a global destination for the Arab film industry.
