The Ministry of Education is examining opportunities to enhance cooperation with Finland
Helsinki, October 23 / WAM / The Ministry of Education discussed opportunities to enhance educational cooperation with the Republic of Finland, during an official visit conducted by a delegation of Ministry officials headed by His Excellency Tariq Al Hashemi, Assistant Undersecretary for the School Operations Sector at the Ministry of Education, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the national educational system and improve its educational outcomes.
The Ministry’s delegation’s visit focused on strengthening educational cooperation and partnerships between the UAE and the Republic of Finland, and learning about the best Finnish practices in the fields of teacher training, curriculum development, innovation in education, educational policies, comprehensive education, and digital learning solutions, in addition to exploring ways to benefit from the Finnish experience in supporting strategic projects and initiatives implemented by the Ministry.
The visit included a series of meetings and encounters with a number of Finnish figures and educational institutions, including His Excellency Anders Adlerkreutz, Finnish Minister of Education, and Tuula Hättinen, Chair of the Education and Culture Committee in the Finnish Parliament, in addition to representatives of the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki, the Helsinki Education Center, and the Finnish Education Evaluation Center, as well as a number of companies. The visit also included field tours to a number of prominent educational destinations in the Republic of Finland, including Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, the Audi Central Library in Helsinki, and a number of model Finnish schools, where the delegation was briefed on modern education methods and innovative educational environments for which Finland is famous.
Through these visits, the Ministry of Education seeks to enhance the exchange of experiences and build bridges of cooperation with the most prominent international educational systems, in a way that supports its efforts in developing education in the UAE, and consolidating its position as a leading center for educational excellence and educational innovation at the regional and global levels.
