Launching the third session of “Dubai Family Business Management”

The Dubai Family Business Center, which operates under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, launched the third session of the Dubai Family Business Management Programme.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the program aims to empower and develop the skills of the leaders of the second tier of family companies in the Emirate of Dubai to ensure the continuity of these companies and plan the succession of their ownership and management, with the aim of preparing and developing effective management skills, and improving governance practices in family companies.

The program also aims to prepare a new generation of family business leaders, educate and raise awareness of family businesses about the best local and international practices, build a local and international communication network with local leaders, businessmen and international institutions, in addition to enhancing the culture of social responsibility in family businesses.

The program combines precise qualitative education with applied academic knowledge, and includes training courses, field visits to international family companies, in addition to an international trip to Italy that allows participants to gain practical experiences that enhance their leadership capabilities.

The program includes 27 participants who are second-year leaders in family businesses, and includes a training program supervised by a group of professors from the Bocconi School of Management in Milan – Italy, in addition to virtual sessions and others for personal guidance.

Director General of Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, said: “The program is an advanced training platform based on high-level international curricula, which makes it one of the distinguished educational programs on the international level. The program also allows members to learn about the economic trends and priorities of the Emirate of Dubai, with a special focus on the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), to gain a comprehensive vision of the policies and plans that enhance the growth of the economic sector and consolidate Dubai’s global competitiveness.

For his part, Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, Majid Al Shamsi, said: “The launch of the third cycle of the Dubai Family Business Management Program represents an important step towards empowering the new generation of family business leaders and providing them with the knowledge and skills that enhance their readiness to respond to emerging requirements at the personal, family and administrative levels within their companies’ business system.”
