12 medals put the UAE at the forefront of the Arabs in the Asian Games

The Muay Thai, e-sports and athletics teams raised the UAE’s tally to 12 colorful medals in the competitions of the third edition of the Third Asian Youth Games, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until the 31st of this month with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female athletes from 45 countries, in which the UAE participates in 19 various sports.
Issam Khalil won the gold medal in the 57 kg category after defeating his Thai counterpart, Yengkong Thitivong, while Aya Al-Ashari won the silver medal after an honorable performance during all rounds, as she lost to her Thai counterpart, Tangchiu Niracha, in the final match in the 48 kg category.
Rakan Yousef and Aziz Al Hammadi won the silver medal in the mixed team Muay Thai competitions, while Sarah Al Junaibi, a player from our national e-sports team, won the bronze medal in the e-football competitions after defeating Thai Thammavong Phengsila with a score of (3-2).
The national athletics team continued its brilliance in the tournament, as it added the relay gold through the quartet of Aisha Muhammad, Arwa Ali, Laila Ahmed and Azza Nasser, with a distinguished time of 2:07.79 minutes, a difference of 1.86 fractions of a second from the Indian team, which won the silver medal with a time of 2:09.65 minutes, while the Chinese team won the bronze medal with a time of 2:10.14 minutes.
The UAE strengthened its position in the rankings, ranking first in the Arab world and seventh in Asia, with a total of 12 medals, including 5 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals. China leads the medal table with a total of 68 medals, including 34 gold, 24 silver, and 10 bronze, followed by Uzbekistan in second place with 28 medals, including 14 gold, 5 silver, and 9 medals. Bronze.
