Schubert attacks African arbitration and praises Al-Masry’s qualification for the group stage

The journalist Ahmed Schubert launched a strong attack on the arbitration system within the African continent, while presenting his radio program on On Sport FM, this Monday morning, stressing that African arbitration is going through a stage of unprecedented decline, and that errors have clearly influenced the results of the matches during the recent period.
Schubert’s statements came against the backdrop of the Al-Masry Club of Port Said’s confrontation with the Libyan club Al-Ittihad. In the second leg of the 32nd round of the African Confederation Championship, during which the Port Said team succeeded in qualifying for the group stage after a draw in the first leg away from home, then winning 2-0 at the new Suez Stadium.
Schubert praised the distinguished performance of the Algerian player Abdel Rahim Daghmoum, who opened the scoring with a wonderful goal in the 18th minute, after taking advantage of the exit of the Libyan goalkeeper from his goal, He took the ball from midfield and put it firmly into the net after two successive attempts, giving Al-Masry a great morale boost at the beginning of the match.
In the second half, Al-Masry players continued their offensive pressure in response to the instructions of technical director Nabil Al-Kouki, who called on his team to end the match early and avoid any scenario that might bring the Libyans back into the competition, especially since Al-Ittihad scored a goal. Al-Masry’s mission will be completed.
Mahmoud Hamada was able to score the second goal to officially secure the pass, amid great joy from the Port Said fans who gathered to support their team.
Schubert concluded his speech by congratulating Al-Masry of Port Said for qualifying, pointing out that the group stage matches will be held without relying on video technology, which may make the competition more difficult. The current African arbitration situation, which he described as deteriorating in a worrying manner.
