المملكة: 60 students learn the “arts” of waste recycling

Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University completed, in cooperation with the National Center for the Management of Waste“Moan” held its first event for the new academic year, through a specialized workshop that focused on waste treatment and disposal techniques, and targeted 60 male and female students from various disciplines.

The workshop, which was organized by the University’s Sustainable Development Unit, aimed to align students with national trends in the innovative recycling sector, and spread awareness of pressing environmental issues. This one-day event comes as part of the institutional project “Sustainable 2025” aimed at promoting work on sustainable development goals on campus.

The University’s Vice President for Development and Community Partnership, Professor Dr. Asim Al Ansari, explained that this activity embodies the university’s strategic plan to integrate academic work with national and global development issues. He stressed that the goal is to involve students in current developments, in a way that serves the pillar of “sustainable impact” within the university’s strategic plan.

Dr. Al-Ansari indicated that these efforts, which enjoy the support and guidance of the university president, aim to educate students, especially those expected to graduate, about developments in the development sector, to prepare them scientifically and practically for effective participation in this growing labor market. The field.

In turn, Dr. Fahd Al-Yami, Director of the Sustainable Developmentat the university, that the event falls within the unit’s annual plan to activate strategic partnerships in a systematic and institutional manner with the relevant governmental, private and non-profit sectors.

Al-Yami added that the workshop reviewed the most prominent initiatives presented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the field of waste recycling and environmental protection, and provided a comprehensive overview of the Kingdom’s trends. In this vital sector for the participating students, who represent various health, engineering and scientific colleges at the university.
