Conclusion of the International Conference for the Dissemination of Arabic in Africa 2025 in Mauritania

Nouakchott, 29 October / WAM / The Supreme Council for the Arabic Language in Africa, in cooperation with the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, concluded the work of the Second International Scientific Conference, which was held under the title: “Means for Spreading the Arabic Language in Africa and Strategies for its Development,” with the broad participation of Arab and African researchers and academics, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed bin Sheikh Al Ghazwani, President of Mauritania.

The conference witnessed the presentation of 45 peer-reviewed scientific papers from 16 Arab and African countries that addressed various issues of spreading the Arabic language and developing its education in the African continent, in the presence of representatives from 40 African and Arab countries.

The opening was attended by Her Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Social Affairs of Mauritania, who in her opening speech praised the efforts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in supporting the Arabic language and culture in general.

Dr. Ahmed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, chaired the seventh scientific session, which was devoted to discussing a group of diverse scientific studies. The research presented included topics on the use of gamification in teaching the Arabic language as a foreign language in South Africa, lexical changes in the Sudanese colloquial dialect, practical proposals to overcome the difficulty of Arabic grammar among some learners, and the ruling on learning the Arabic language in the fatwas of African jurists, in addition to peer-reviewed research on the Arabic language and national sovereignty in Africa, and a study entitled: The Role of Corners and Education. The Free Arab League on the steadfastness of the Arabic language in Algeria during the French occupation.

Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi said that the importance of everything stems from its subject. The Second Scientific Conference on the Arabic Language in Africa derived its value from the value of its subject, as it was held to serve Arabic, the most prestigious and richest languages, with the generous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who spares no effort in serving Arabic and its people in various countries and continents of the world.
