"Pioneers" Sharjah organizes the second edition of the Opportunities and Partnerships Forum

Sharjah, 29 October / WAM / The Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects “Ruwad”, affiliated with the Department of Economic Development, organized today at the Al Jawaher Center for Events and Conferences the second edition of the Opportunities and Partnerships Forum.
The forum was attended by His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Head of the Department, along with a number of senior officials and managers from a group of government agencies, private sector institutions, and about 300 male and female entrepreneurs who own small and medium enterprises in the emirate.
The forum, which is being held for the second year in a row and in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, the Sharjah Central Finance Department and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center “Sheraa”, aims to bring together entrepreneurs and officials in the finance and procurement departments of government agencies in the country and provide a dialogue platform to discuss the role of selected groups of these agencies in activating the government procurement program and highlight the most prominent government experiences and practices to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium national enterprises at the local and external levels.
The forum’s agenda included a visual presentation on the outcomes of the previous edition and the most prominent results of government procurement from “Ruwad” projects during the years 2024 and 2025. The attendees also watched a presentation on “Federal Procurement Catalog in the Ministry of Finance” presented by Kholoud Khaled Karmastji, Head of the Procurement Operations Planning and Governance Department at the Ministry, while Ahmed Al Kindi, Head of the Suppliers Section in the Procurement Department at the Central Finance Department in Sharjah, reviewed the department’s role in supporting pioneering projects through a presentation titled “Ruwad: A Transformational Journey towards a Promising Digital Future.” For entrepreneurs,” he touched on the most prominent initiatives launched by the department to support the financial and digital transformation of entrepreneurial projects, including the establishment of a “pioneers system,” making amendments and reports included in the “takamul” system, and including new standards in the Outstanding Financial Performance Award organized by the department.
Mohammed Al Madani, President of the Franchise and Brands Association “Tajamu,” spoke about the association’s visions and its role in supporting commercial franchising and empowering entrepreneurs in the UAE.
This was followed by a dialogue session that addressed the role of government agencies in supporting national projects, with the participation of Sarah Hadi, head of the procurement department at the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, Fatima Al Shamsi, deputy director of the procurement department at the Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah, and Dr. Suhaila Al Hosani, the owner of one of the projects.
The forum witnessed the signing of a group of contracts and cooperation agreements between the projects of the “Ruwad” Foundation and a number of leading government and private agencies, including the Sharjah Economic Development Department, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center “Sheraa,” and the companies “Water Melon,” “Pac-Man,” and “Click to Secure.”
