"Islamic Affairs and Endowments" and" Office of Artificial Intelligence" They launch an initiative to qualify 5,000 employees in the field of future technologies

Dubai, October 30 / WAM / The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in cooperation with the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and a number of major technology companies specialized in the fields of artificial intelligence, launched an initiative to qualify more than 5,000 of the authority’s employees in the field of artificial intelligence technologies and opportunities to use future technologies in the work system.
The initiative, which comes within efforts to achieve the objectives of the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, aims to develop and build the capabilities of the Authority’s employees from various specializations, which include; Workers in legal discourse, imams, preachers, muftis and preachers, in the field of awareness and knowledge of artificial intelligence, opportunities to use and employ tools and technologies, enhance applied capabilities, and research and analysis.
His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, confirmed that the UAE government continues to explore promising opportunities in artificial intelligence applications and technologies within various government sectors, and to build on its advanced capabilities to develop them and enhance their efficiency. He pointed out that the partnership supporting the Authority’s efforts to qualify, develop, and build the capabilities of its employees, embodies the government’s integrated approach to sustaining development and keeping pace with accelerating global transformations, which contributes to serving society and enhancing the quality of life.
His Excellency said that the future challenges imposed by the rapid pace of technical development require high readiness and effective investment in employing artificial intelligence solutions in various fields, to ensure achieving the best results, stressing that the UAE government continues to consolidate its leadership in anticipating the future of government work by adopting the latest technologies and keeping pace with global trends in this accelerating field.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Darai, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, stressed the Authority’s keenness to invest in artificial intelligence in serving its goals and delivering its services to society in a modern way.
His Excellency said that this initiative aims to sustainably raise awareness and train the Authority’s employees in the field of artificial intelligence as it is a constantly evolving and changing field, and to provide a comprehensive vision about the reality of artificial intelligence and its uses in line with the state’s direction, and to build a strong knowledge foundation among those working in the Sharia discourse on the concepts and techniques of artificial intelligence, and to understand the benefits and challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence within the scope of their work in the Sharia discourse, and to enhance the applied capabilities in benefiting from artificial intelligence tools, pointing to the role of the partnership of the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa and the Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities in Abu Dhabi in achieving benefit. This initiative is in line with common goals and continued cooperation to achieve them with advanced visions.
The training topics include: Introduction to the field of artificial intelligence, the country’s strategic directions and efforts in this field, awareness of its various uses in the fields of research, services, content, analysis, and decision-making support, and a practical focus on employing artificial intelligence in the fields of Islamic affairs.
The initiative, which comes in cooperation with major technology companies Cisco, Oracle, Google, Microsoft, AI71, e&, Meta, SAS, and SAP, seeks to raise awareness and enhance knowledge of artificial intelligence techniques among those working in Sharia discourse, enable them to use artificial intelligence tools in their daily tasks, enhance the quality and efficiency of religious discourses and initiatives related to Islamic affairs, and create a database on the levels of knowledge among those working in Sharia discourse to guide future programs. From the initiative to build meaningful partnerships with major technological and training companies, and then move to the second stage of enhancing knowledge, refining and developing skills in a way that ensures keeping pace with the latest technical developments and employing them to support the digital transformation process.
